Did you know that Brita water filter cartridges are recyclable...in Europe? Yup, we can recycle over there but not here. I just realized that today since I thought I had heard something on the radio for recycling Brita filters.Turns out, though, that Brita in the US is owned by Clorox, and Clorox doesn't have a recycling program. Boo. So I found this site that has created a petition urging Clorox to get a program started. In the meantime, you can send this group your used filters, which they'll eventually send to Clorox. (They even do pickups if you're in the Bay Area).
So please recycle!
